About Her

Uzma Sadaqat is a senior Clinical Psychologist and the Chief Treatment Officer at Willing Ways, Pakistan. With over 23 years of clinical and leadership experience, she brings deep expertise in substance use disorders, dual diagnosis, family systems and evidence-based couples therapy to the design and delivery of comprehensive treatment programs.

As Chief Treatment Officer, Uzma leads the development, standardization, and quality assurance of treatment protocols across Willing Ways’ centers. Her work focuses on integrating science-based clinical models with culturally responsive care, ensuring consistency, ethical practice, and measurable outcomes in addiction and mental health treatment.

Uzma is internationally trained in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels I, II, III) and has completed advanced certifications from The Gottman Institute, USA, including Treating Trauma and Affairs, Couples and Addiction Recovery, and The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work – Leader Training. She specializes in working with couples and families affected by addiction, helping repair relationships while strengthening recovery capital.

She is also a Certified Clinical Interventionist, trained by Debra Jay and Jeff Jay, with extensive experience in Structured Family Intervention and has received specialized training in Denial Management Counseling from Terence T. Gorski. Uzma is widely recognized for her ability to work with both inpatient and outpatient individuals and their families, skillfully addressing denial, ambivalence, and enabling patterns to facilitate timely treatment engagement and sustained recovery.

In 2016, Uzma was selected for the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State, with a focus on Best Practices in Drug Demand Reduction. She engaged with leading addiction treatment and prevention experts across multiple U.S. states and was awarded Honorary Citizenship of Pensacola, Florida, in recognition of her professional contributions.

Since 2005, Uzma has regularly appeared on various national television channels as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, contributing to public awareness and psychoeducation on addiction, family dynamics, emotional well-being, and recovery. She is particularly passionate about reframing mental health through the lens of brain health, advocating for prevention-oriented, stigma-free conversations.

Uzma holds an MPhil in Clinical Psychology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, with a research focus on prevention science and long-term recovery outcomes.

Combining clinical depth, leadership vision, and a strong commitment to evidence-based treatment, Uzma Sadaqat continues to shape ethical, family-centered, and tailored addiction treatment that addresses the unique needs of each patient and family in Pakistan. Outside her professional work, she values balance and lifelong growth, and enjoys reading, listening to educational audio programs, watching stand-up comedy, traveling, hiking, exercising, and spending time in nature.
